Kat Wheelers Cloud Series
Book 1: There Is No Cloud
Book 2: Cloud Judgement
I was so excited to find these books. A great set of stories intertwining technology’s dangers with a strong female lead! The books follow Cameron Caldwell, a saleswoman for a large technology company suddenly thrust into a world of danger.
From the author’s page for There is No Cloud:
You never know what’s listening….
Are you ready to discover the dark secrets hiding in your own home? As a sales rep for SmartTech, Cameron Caldwell thought she knew everything there was to know about home automation. But when she uncovers a sinister plot behind a rival company's home AI device, she realizes the true dangers of letting technology into every aspect of our lives. As she races to uncover the truth, Cameron must decide if she's willing to risk it all to expose the shocking secrets of the HomeTech Hub. With twists and turns at every corner, ‘There is no Cloud” will keep you on the edge of your seat until the shocking finale.
I love a story that shows the promise and peril of the technology we live with every day. Not the dystopian sci-fi of tomorrow, but the things that could happen today! What a thrilling ride to follow Cameron as she discovers the sinister plot before she works with Will, the intriguing yet challenging detective, to help solve the mystery.
In the second book, Cloud Judgment, Cameron is back months later as her own consultant when she is drawn into another tech-laced mystery. This time the culprit is less hands-on when it appears the technology itself is the one creating destruction. When Will reaches out to ask for her help she steps up to help where no one else has the skills to track down how it’s happening.
From the author’s page for Cloud Judgment:
How do you catch a murderer who can kill from anywhere?
Cameron Caldwell’s life is forever changed. After catching the HomeTech Hub killer and losing her dream job, she’s determined to get her life back on track. Her new consulting business is rough going, but she’s focused on success… and staying far away from any business involving the police. But when she meets a mysterious man who might not be what he appears, there’s only one person she can call for help.
Detective Will Justus’s world keeps changing. There’s a new kind of criminal on the loose, one who doesn’t even need to be at the crime scene to commit murder. Backed into a corner and needing a specific kind of technical help, he decides to reach out to an old friend. Regardless of their rocky relationship, Cameron Caldwell might be the only one who can put the pieces together.
Together, they begin the hunt for a new kind of killer.
If you like an edge-of-your-seat techno-thriller I recommend both of these books. Kat’s storytelling is engaging and fun “I’m not supposed to need survival skills. I’m in sales!” You can get both of her books at the Amazon link below.
